I. INTRODUCTION ABOUT FMO 2025-2026

Fermat Mathematical Olympiad (FMO) is an annual competition organized and hosted by Fermat Education, an authorized Vietnamese organization responsible for many international Olympiad competitions. FMO serves as an academic playground for students with passion for Mathematics ranging from Kindergarten to high school. FMO aims to help students develop their mathematical skills, creative thinking, and ability to apply knowledge to real-life and global problems. Unlike traditional exams that focus on difficult and complex academic content, FMO presents familiar concepts in a practical manner, aligned with the general curriculum at each level. Through practical problems, the exam provides students with interesting experiences and helps them see the relevance of mathematics in everyday life. Participating in FMO allows students to strengthen their foundationalknowledge, develop their mathematical skills and abilities, and cultivate important skills such as observation, imagination, reasoning, critical thinking. Additionally, the exam nurtures students' passion for mathematics as well as their self-study habit.

Through the years, FMO has attracted a large number of participants from all provinces and cities in Vietnam, as well as candidates from various countries and territories such as Azerbaijan, India, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Uzbekistan, ... Building on this success, the upcoming season 6 which is FMO 2025-2026 promises to provide a valuable platform for students to engage in mathematical challenges. This is also a great opportunity for participants to compete on a global scale and have memorable experiences with peers from all around the world.

III. REGULATIONS ABOUT AGE GROUP AND EXAM STRUCTURE

1. Age group

All students from primary 1 to high school in terms of school year 2025-2026.

2. Category

Students choose the category based on the school year 2025-2026. For example, a student having finished Grade 3 of the school year 2024-2025 will register for category “Grade 4”.
