American National Election Studies
Affective Polarization Explorer (ANES 1980–2024)
Interactive tool built from American National Election Studies (ANES) time-series data. Use the controls to adjust the year range, toggle own-party and rival-party feelings, and display the affective “gap” at specific years.
Technical note: This interactive visualization is implemented in R (Shiny, ggplot2, and plotly) and hosted via shinyapps.io.
During my time working with the American National Election Studies (ANES), I served as a Graduate Student Research Fellow supporting the 2026 pilot study cycle. My work integrated methodological rigor with clear data visualization, helping translate complex survey trends into accessible insights for the ANES team and broader research community.
