Tashi Air is now known as Bhutan Airlines. Bhutan Airlines was founded in the year 2011 under the name Tashi Air. It operated for six months prior to when it shut down. They changed their name to Tashi Air and resumed operation in October of 2013.
The Tashi Group owns Tashi Air and Bhutan Airlines. Dasho Urji was the founder in 1959.
Bhutan Airlines has its own private schedule of flights departing from Thimphu in Bhutan. It provides regular flights to India as well as Thailand in addition to Nepal.

Paro Airport
Paro Airport is the only airport in Bhutan that has international flights. It is also one of the four airports located in Bhutan. International flights are not able to be taken off or land from the airport because of its stunning position in the Paro Chhu valley and the surrounding mountains.
It was initially an airport of a smaller size constructed in the year 1968. The airport was expanded and upgraded in the year 1990. In 1999 the terminal building was constructed.

Bhutan Airlines does not yet provide online check-in.
Check-in at the airport
Bhutan Airlines passengers must check in at the Airport prior to departure. According to Bhutan Airlines, travelers must be at the airport no more than two hours prior to departure.
Check-in begins three hours before departure. The desks will be closed 45 minutes prior to departure.
6. Bhutan Airlines Policies
a. Baggage Policy and Fees
Carry-on Baggage
Bhutan Airlines demands that carry-on baggage should not exceed 55x40x20cm, or 7kg.
The carry-on bag is able to hold an item of personal use like laptop cases and briefcases.
Checked Baggage
Bhutan Airlines allows checked baggage according to the class and route of flight.
On most flights, Business Class can carry 40kg, while Economy and Premium Economy can only take 30 kg.
This restriction does not apply to passengers who fly between Gaya - Paro. The route is governed by the requirement that bags checked in do not weigh more than 30kg in Business Class, as well as under 20kg for Economy Class and Premium Economy Class.
Baggage that is not full
Bhutan Airlines will charge baggage that exceeds the weight limit or the dimensions.
b. Pet Policy
Pets that are properly crated like pets, dogs or even household birds, are allowed to travel provided they are able to enter the premises with valid entry permits and proofs of health.
The animal and the food container aren't allowed to be used in baggage. It is considered to be excess baggage and the traveller is required to pay the applicable fees.
Carrier's Regulations are applicable to guide dogs that accompany passengers who are visually or blind impaired.
The acceptance of animal transport implies that the animal's owner assumes all liability for the animal. The animal carrier is not accountable for any injuries or delay, death or even death of animals in such a case, or when they are refused access to or transit through any country.
c. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Druk Air Ticket Cancellation Policy:
A refund of 90% is offered for cancellations that are that are made within 35 days of the date of departure.
Tickets that are cancelled between 15 and 34 days prior to the original date of travel are eligible for 75% of the amount back.
50% Refund is available for tickets that are cancelled within 08-14 days of the day of departure.
Cancellations made less than 8 days prior to the event date are not honoured.
Tickets that have been rescheduled or tickets that are punished will not be returned.
