Our Experience & Passion

Flying Colours is a partnership between two grade 10 students, keen to spread our knowledge and skills. We have both always been interested in STEM subjects, and are eager to learn more. We both started french immersion classes in grade 3-4 and are continuing to take advanced level classes throughout high school. Our piano teacher has been taking lessons for over 10 years, participating in recitals and competitions during that time. Our passion for teaching and helping others developed through our elementary school experiences, helping younger kids with reading, and volunteering to help with homework.

We started in December of 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic was at its worst. The talk of the stress of online learning and work was all around and we were experiencing it too. We heard from countless parents that their kids were struggling to concentrate during virtual classes and could not understand the material. Others were bored, not being able to socialize, and wanted a new hobby for their kids. After volunteering for a few weeks, teaching basic piano lessons and helping with french homework, more interest was developed for virtual homework help and piano lessons. With many asking for sessions for their children, we decided to come together to form one resource - this is where our small business began.
