Richard Muirhead was born in Hong Kong in 1966 and became interested in Cryptozoology at the age of 10 when in 1977 the Japanese trawler Zuiyo Maru dredged up a mystery carcass off the coast of New Zealand. Since the mid 1990s he has been researching and writing and publishing about cryptozoology and Fortean Zoology, especially for the Centre for Fortean Zoology and Flying Snake magazine.
