@Humberto founds Southwest Virtual Airlines to create a Virtual Airline that houses a safe and enjoyable community within the Infinite Flight Community. Alongside creating that community he strove to create a Virtual Airline that maintained an active pilot base, crew center, route database, and event list.
@Humberto resigned with @CaptJackson being promoted to Chief Executive Officer and began leading Southwest Virtual Airlines on the track it exists on today. Early in the year operations within the Virtual Airline were suspended as staff got to work reforming operations within Southwest Virtual to form a new VA. By April operations resumed within Southwest Virtual with reformed systems and routes benefitting pilots and passengers. By June of 2017 Southwest Virtual achieved the milestone of 25 active pilots. In August of the same year the recruitment side got a revamp to include a Line Check alongside the Written Exam to ensure a professional pilot base. In October following the launch of Infinite Flight Global Southwest Virtual launched over 1200 routes to over 103 destinations on the simulator. Southwest Virtual continued to be a pioneer within the Virtual Airline community with the introduction of a passenger option. This function allowed community members to book virtual flights onboard of Southwest Virtual routes, this system quickly grew in popularity.
In April of 2018 Southwest Virtual celebrated one year of operations within the Infinite Flight. During 2018 is also when we introduced our Crew Center providing Pilots with an easier way to manage flight time, ranks, and find routes.
In April of 2019 Southwest Virtual celebrated 2 years of operations. Part of this celebration was an updated look to the Virtual Airline alongside additional freedom for our pilots. One major achievement for Southwest Virtual was the introduction of pilot led events. Southwest Virtual pushed to have pilots lead events and in 2019 became the first virtual airline to have pilot-led and hosted events instead of staff posted events. These freedoms for Pilots continued to expand in the following years and shape Southwest Virtual.
