The iCafe Group at the Department of Mechanical Engineering aims for research on scientific machine learning, high-fidelity thermo-fluids simulations, nanoscale heat transfer and swarm robots.
The intelligent computing and fluids exploring lab (iCafe) at Northern Illinois University focuses on scientific machine learning, high-fidelity thermo-fluids simulations, nanoscale heat transfer and swarm robots. While great progress has been made in thermo-fluids sciences research due to rapid development of high-performance computing architectures and experimental measurement capabilities, there still exist numerous challenges due to lack of numerical, experimental, analytical and data-driven methods. We strive to combine computations, experiments, theories and artificial intelligence to tackle these unsolved problems in the age of big data for thermo-fluids sciences.
