What Your Child Will Learn
Our curriculum is structured into three pathways: Phonics & Reading, Grammar/Creative Writing, and Spoken English & Public Speaking. Each pathway is taught in modules that build skills step-by-step and end with a performance or project.
Module 1: Letter Sounds — Learn phonemes (short/long vowel sounds), recognition and pronunciation.
Module 2: Blending & Segmenting — Combine sounds to read CVC words; break words into sounds.
Module 3: CVC Words & Digraphs — Practice consonant-vowel-consonant and digraphs (sh, ch, th).
Module 4: Sight Words — High-frequency words for fluency.
Module 5: Reading Fluency Practice — Phrasing, expression, pace.
Module 6: Comprehension Basics — Answering simple questions about texts, sequencing events.
Assessment / Outcome: Fluency checks, 1 short reading performance.
Module 1: Nouns, Verbs & Adjectives — Identify and use basic parts of speech.
Module 2: Sentence Structure — Simple & compound sentences; subject-verb agreement.
Module 3: Punctuation & Capitalisation — Full stops, commas, question marks, capital letters.
Module 4: Paragraph Writing — Topic sentence, supporting sentences, concluding sentence.
Module 5: Picture Composition — Describe pictures and write short compositions.
Module 6: Creative Story Writing — Character, setting, plot and descriptive language.
Assessment / Outcome: Students write a short story and contribute to a class anthology.
Module 1: Voice & Confidence — Breath control, projection, articulation exercises.
Module 2: Daily Conversation Practice — Role-play, dialogues, situational speaking.
Module 3: Storytelling — Structure, expression, gestures.
Module 4: Speech Writing & Structure — Openings, body, conclusions, linking phrases.
Module 5: Body Language & Stage Presence — Gestures, posture, eye contact.
Module 6: Final Performance Project — Deliver a prepared speech or storytelling performance.
Assessment / Outcome: Recorded performance, teacher feedback, certificate of completion.
Session length & frequency:
• Early Readers (Phonics): 30–45 minutes per class, 2 classes/week.
• Grammar & Creative Writing: 40 minutes per class, 2 classes/week.
• Spoken English & Public Speaking: 40 minutes per class, 2 classes/week + practice tasks.
