After 40 years (April 1980-April 2020) of willingly and sacrificially worshiping our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ through pastoral and community service, Judy and I were looking forward to more time and energy to minister to each other, create new memories, and pursue new adventures. We were also exploring a new, creative and cutting edge way to minister. Judy was contemplating creating an innovative ministry that she coined, "Simple Truth!"
After 40 years (April 1980-April 2020) of willingly and sacrificially worshiping our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ through pastoral and community service, Judy and I were looking forward to more time and energy to minister to each other, create new memories, and pursue new adventures. We were also exploring a new, creative and cutting edge way to minister. Judy was contemplating creating an innovative ministry that she coined, "Simple Truth!"
Then came cancer in 2019. Then came debilitating radiation and chemotherapy. Then came surgery and major adjustments. Then came a cancer free assessment. Then came another surgery. Then came a routine scan check-up at The University of Virginia Medical Center in October 2020. Then came the words, "I have some bad news," from Judy's oncologist on the day of the scan. Then came a biopsy on the day after the scan. Then came the words, "The biopsy has confirmed the cancer has metastasized." Then came the option of chemotherapy for life (2-3 years?) or hospice (6-8 months?).

There is no worst for those who have trusted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. For ALL things, indeed, work together for the good to those who love the Lord. Judy loves the Lord and we take solace in knowing that "EVEN NOW" it remains possible for her to be a recipient of a Miracle in this life, and that remains our earnest prayer!

Judy is the most humble and selfless person I know. Fortunately for me, but unfortunately for her, I know her "wish list" and have created my own version of a "make a wish foundation" for our family and friends that I am calling, Flowers Now For Judy. We have also provided other creative ways your Ministry of Presence can help support our family.
