The Flowering Progress Story

Flowering Progress was created by a 16 year old Fairfield Ludlowe High School junior Zara Smith. Her passion for painting flowers along with her devotion to improve mental health awareness sparked the idea and execution of this non-profit organization. Zara herself battles with anxiety and depression yet her mental challenges have only fueled her passion and purpose for helping others. Zara recently spoke at the Fairfield Board Of Education meeting to advocate for mental health awareness within the school system and was featured in The Patch (a local Fairfield news source) for her speech. Zara hopes through this organization, more attention will be given to the necessary changes in our school system. Over the summer of 2021, Zara picked up painting as a hobby which she shares with her Grandfather Stan Smith.
