Who are we?

 Origins 

 FlowEd was founded by Chloe Guedes Smith and Eliza Rorech in April of 2024. The idea of FlowEd and the pamphlets were formed by our deep investment into immigration rights and women's issues -both being contemporary, polarizing subjects. 

 Our Process

Upon making the menstrual pamphlet, we had to consider many factors that would culminate to create a sucsessful manifestation of our ideas. Some things we had to think about included language translations, wording, cultural sensitivities, and graphic design. 

Our first step in the process was consulting with Rachel Lotus, founder of The Talk NYC and expert in sex education. We took inspiration from her All About Periods FAQs to begin conceptualizing the contents of our own pamphlet.  

Once we came up with the main information we wanted to include in the pamphlet, we spent time meticulously editing and revising our words to make sure they sounded the way we intended.  

The original version of the pamplet is in English, but we knew that to reach a multitude of audiences, specifically in the realm of immigration, we needed to translate the pamphlet into other languages. Working with language experts at our school, we translated the information on the pamphlet into Arabic, French, Portuguese, and Spanish. 

After the contents were finalized, we digitally designed a tri-fold pamphlet with fun colors and inviting graphics. 

When the pamphlet finally felt complete, we printed and folded hundreds of them. After, the pamphlets were ready to be distributed!
