Flow and Let Go is an interactive workshop that teaches teens and young adults skills to better manage stress and strong emotions. Participants get an opportunity to explore stress factors, connect with others, learn strategies to manage stress and engage in physical stress release through guided movement.
This workshop is led by Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Certified Yoga Instructors who are specially trained in trauma informed practices. The use of both professions allows us to address the mental, emotional and physical responses to stress in our bodies.
Lots of changes are occurring during the adolescent and early adult years. These changes along with high academic demands, extracurricular commitments, social relationships and world events contribute to teens and young adults feeling stressed. While it may not be possible to reduce or eliminate the factors causing stress, it is possible to teach them skills to manage stress and build resilience.
This workshop is best conducted in an open space to allow for movement. It can be presented in groups of up to 50 people. Although the length can be tailored, the ideal time for an optimal experience is 1.5 to 2 hours.
