Membership in our chapter automatically includes membership in the National Izaak Walton League of America.
Individual and family memberships also include membership in the Florida Division, the entity that represents our Florida members on the national board of directors. In addition, membership in the national Izaak Walton League brings with it membership in the Izaak Walton League Endowment, a sister organization which funds worthy League projects.
Being a League member is a rewarding experience, just through knowing that you are part of the great work that the League does at the national level, and it also lends your support to our chapter efforts. You can find out more about the national organization's many conservation programs at the national IWLA website.
Although the League prides itself on it conservation efforts through its network of chapters (about 250 in the United States), League membership is available by either becoming a "member at large", which does not involve chapter membership, or by joining one (or more) of the many local IWLA chapters.
For anyone who would like to make a more substantial contribution, there are life memberships and life benefactor memberships available in the national IWLA. If you are interested in any of these, please contact a chapter officer or the national IWLA office for more information.
There are four classes of membership in our Florida Keys IWLA Chapter: youth, student, individual and family. The most popular are individual and family memberships, and most of our members have family memberships.
Individual membership in the chapter is $62.00. $8.00 of this goes to the local chapter, $4.00 goes to the Florida IWLA Division, and $50.00 goes to pay for national membership.
Family membership is $93.00 (150% of the individual rate). $12.00 of the family membership goes to the local chapter, $75.00 goes to the national IWLA, and $6.00 goes to the Florida IWLA Division.
Student memberships are one-half ($25.00) of the national individual membership, and youth memberships are one-fifth ($10.00) of the national individual membership rate.
Each class of membership includes national membership and a subscription to our quarterly national IWLA magazine, "Outdoor America".
Individuals or families who are national life or life benefactor members pay only the chapter and state portion of the dues described above.
