Grand Opening Policies & Procedures
General
FIRST TIME TRAINERS:
BRING YOUR I-9 Identification- Reach Out to a GOS if you have any questions
You will NOT be able to work without the ID's
No eating up front or in the kitchen
Keep work areas clean and organized
No cell phone use in work areas, except for work purposes (i.e. trainer website, Pathway)
No switching hotel rooms or going into other trainer's rooms!!
If you're not assigned to the hotel room, don't be in the room -- utilize the lobby or meeting rooms for gathering together.
Represent yourself, your Operator, and CFA Inc. in a positive way.
Team Member and Store Discount Policy
BRING YOUR OWN CUP!
Team Members here will receive free food—one regular entree and one regular side item. The same discount will apply to the trainer team, but please be good stewards and keep it to one regular entree and one side Item.

Food Safety/Hospitality
Food safety and Hospitality should be our top priorities during this opening, for both FOH and BOH! Please help us exemplify good food safety practices for the new Team Members and make sure we are creating Remarkable Experiences for our guests. Study and be an expert with on the FOOD SAFETY 5 and Winning Hearts Every Day Strategy.
Schedule
The FTS schedule will be posted on the website before you arrive at the opening, but we ask that you remain flexible as things may change throughout the week. Schedules for the following week will be posted on the website by Saturday.
Attire
The following items are mandatory:
Name tag, with no titles under your name other than "Grand Opening Trainer." Wooden name tags are not allowed.
Blue Trainer Polos. You will receive uniforms upon arrival.
Black or gray Oobe pants.
Black non-slip shoes, black socks, black belt.
Any Chick-fil-A polos of your choice for setup days before opening.
If you choose to wear a jacket or sweater it must be Chick-fil-A branded
Trainers who are serving for multiple weeks or prior to opening day will have some time to explore the area!
Breaks
Each Grand Opening trainer is provided a 30-minute unpaid break for every 6 hours worked.
GOT Leads for each area of the restaurant are responsible for running GOT breaks.
Please no breaks during peak times.
Please do not abuse this privilege!
Time Recording
You must record your time via NOVATime. When you take a break please account for it on your NOVATime app. Please be a faithful steward - DO NOT milk the clock. At the end of each week, you will be required to verify your hours and sign off on your time worked. Please DO NOT leave without completing this step!

Be sure you are able to log in PRIOR to your travel day to ensure everything works!
Expenses
Each trainer will receive $25 daily for food including travel days. You will not be required to turn in receipts; it is a daily per diem that will be added to your paycheck.
You are responsible for clocking in/recording your travel time in NOVAtime. Please note the allowances for travel time, as listed below:
Flying to Grand Opening: Starts 1.5 hours from take off. Ends when you arrive at the hotel.
Flying Home: Starts 1.5 hours from take off. Ends when you arrive at your home airport.
Driving: We will reimburse you for the mileage from your home to the hotel and return if it exceeds 50mi, so please keep track of your mileage!
If you are unable to login to NOVAtime at first, please keep count of your hours and let Carrie know when you arrive at work on your first day.
One checked baggage will be reimbursed through Chick-fil-A on your paycheck. You will need to turn in a receipt to your GOS at the opening.
Tip: DON'T OVERPACK! If you're here for a week or less, please try to not check a bag at the airport. A carry-on should be more than sufficient for one week, especially since you'll mostly be wearing Chick-fil-A attire.
You can park at the airport if it is absolutely necessary. You will receive a maximum of $12 per day for parking at the airport.
Tip: Please try to have someone else drop you off. Mileage will be covered to/from the airport.
Fuel to fill cars for work purposes will be reimbursed through Chick-fil-A on your paycheck. PLEASE KEEP Receipts to show total amount spent! Rental cars should come with a toll pass to be used for work purposes.
Gas for personal trips or activities will not be covered including tolls! If you adventure out that milage and gas is a personal expense. Gas is only reimbursed for rental vehicles.
You are required to come to work with a uniform that is clean and wrinkle-free. Laundry is available at the hotel and will require quarters. Detergent will be provided at the front desk. There are multiple washer and dryers for your use.
G.O.T. Feedback
GOSs will be providing feedback on your performance at this assignment. Feedback sessions will take place in your final few days of service. Trainers will be evaluated based on Knowledge, Training Skill, Speed/Urgency, Leadership, and Attitude. These feedback sessions are intended to serve as a tool to help you grow and develop as a trainer and leader.
