If you are looking for a beach with many facilities on offer, Jacksonville Beach is where it’s at. The beach itself is beautiful but it is nearby many activities and amenities, and a popular fishing pier juts out into the Atlantic Ocean.
There is also a well-known golf course a short distance from the beach, and there are plenty of restaurants and fun activities always close at hand.
Surfers from around the country come to Jacksonville Beach because it is known for having some of the best waves in this part of the country. Experienced surfers say that The Poles near Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park is the best place in Jacksonville to surf.

No matter your age, or whether you’re a guest visiting the area or a proud resident of Jacksonville’s beach communities (Mayport, Neptune Beach, Jax Beach, Atlantic Beach, Ponte Vedra, and Palm Valley), the Beaches Museum provides something for all.
The museum building houses exhibits, archives, museum store, and offices. The first floor has two exhibit rooms; one houses the permanent exhibits (Pritchard Gallery), and the other houses temporary Exhibits (Dickinson Gallery). The temporary exhibits change periodically – generally every 2 or 3 months, usually with a period in between where there is no temporary exhibit. Read more here: https://www.beachesmuseum.org/
