Born on 8 March 1988 in Trier, the oldest city in Germany, I currently hold the Chair of Business Administration, in particular Accounting and Finance, and serve as Director of the Doctoral Program at Privatuniversität Schloss Seeburg in Seekirchen am Wallersee, Austria.
After completing a vocational training as Bankkaufmann (IHK; certified bank clerk) and a continuing qualification as Bankfachwirt (IHK; advanced banking qualification) at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, I studied "Wirtschaft und Recht" (Business Administration and Law) at Saarland University in Saarbrücken, Germany, from 2011 to 2016, graduating with a Master of Science. During my studies, I gained practical experience in management consulting and banking in Frankfurt/Main, Düsseldorf, and New York.
Following my master's degree, I worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Auditing at Saarland University. In 2019, I received my doctorate (Dr. rer. oec.) with a monograph entitled "Zur Unternehmensbewertung im Spruchverfahren aus interessentheoretischer Sicht. Der aktienrechtliche Minderheitenausschluss im Lichte der Neuen Politischen Ökonomie".
Together with my team, I currently work primarily on research questions that link accounting and finance to innovation and sustainability. A further research interest lies in the analysis of the audit market and its regulation. Already during my studies, I noticed that thinking in abstract concepts allows me to identify new fields of application for my research. It was therefore a natural step to extend my expertise beyond the immediate boundaries of business administration. In numerous research projects, I have been able to combine my long-standing interests in sports and politics with my background in business administration, particularly in investment theory, decision theory, and corporate governance.
My research has been published, among others, in Accounting, Economics, and Law: A Convivium, Accounting History Review, Journal of Business Economics, Journal of Economic Surveys, Kyklos, Management Decision, Managerial and Decision Economics, and Management Review Quarterly. Practitioner-oriented and educational contributions have been published, among others, in BankArchiv, Corporate Finance, Der Aufsichtsrat, Der Betrieb, Deutsches Steuerrecht, Die Wirtschaftsprüfung, Wirtschaftswissenschaftliches Studium, and Zeitschrift für Corporate Governance. As part of knowledge transfer activities, I also contribute to general-interest media such as WirtschaftsWoche and serve as an expert commentator for outlets including Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Die Welt, ARD, ZDF, Phoenix, and Deutschlandfunk.
