Florian Bottner, MSc

I am a PhD candidate in economics at the Department of Public Finance at the University of Innsbruck.

Research interests: Environmental- and Political Economics

Science is the great antidote to the poison of enthusiasm and superstition”

(Adam Smith)

The focus of my research lies at the interface between environmental and political economics. I investigate questions in the area of public acceptance of financing measures for climate damages or public support for carbon taxes. My aim is to answer socially relevant questions using state-of-the-art empirical methods. In this way, I help to ensure that political decisions can be made on the basis of scientific findings.
