Flora's Colors is an archive of swatches that I have collected and compiled into blog-form. Thus, the sources of color are credited to the best of my ability. Some colors that I have taken from print sources may not be the author's exact intention as I have recreated them digitally. All analyzations and interpretations are my own, it's my website, and therefore my opinions. This website is frequently updated and changing.
There is not one way to use this site to your advantage. The navigation bar will lead you to pages of hues, with subpages containing additional information. Each hue features a master slideshow containing color slides of particular names, ordered alphabetically. You can sift through the colors quickly using your arrow keys or clicking on the slide number at the bottom left.
Color association fascinates me. I have always found it curious to study others' colors and compare them to my own. What one name invokes in the mind differs based on the influence of experience. Experiences of preschool crayons, of advertisements, of hometown graffiti, of poetic songwriting, of poorly rated films, of secondhand clothing, of favorite foods, of friends' houses, of painting mistakes, of sports teams, of...
