What I did today:
Today I worked on simulating a multi order cavity with just one layer of AuNR particles.
My goal was to see how the coupling strength is influenced by increasing cavity volume. My first challenge was figuring out how to increase the cavity size in the simulation. This was especially challenging considering that there were several layers of Bragg mirrors on top and bottom of the sample. Thus, in order to increase the cavity size I would have to move the collection of Bragg mirrors up/down evenly. To resolve this issue, I had to start by analyzing the code within Ansys in order to make a changeable parameter that I can then "sweep" across. I then had to perform the sweep and wait an hour for the code to finish running , in order to see if my best guess would do what I wanted.

Notes about working in France:
Lunch is so much fun and I feel so welcomed in conversation no matter who I am talking to. I can have conversations about any topic with anyone of any age. Everyone just wants to have genuine conversations, laugh, and not take everything so serious. I am so grateful to be in such a welcoming group.
What I plan to do tomorrow:
Analyze the graphs I get from doing this and what they mean.
Notes for the future:
My ulitimate goal is to get absoprtion. Right now I have the values of reflection and transmission from the monitors at the top and bottom of the hybrid cavity.
