What I did today:
Today my goal was to simulate the change in the pulse duration using time monitors. To do this I placed time monitors before and after the hybrid cavity measuring the pulse time data. I also placed a variety of movie monitors so as to see a visual representation of what is going on in the hybrid cavity as the plane wave goes through. These movie monitors were especially helpful when trying to understand the pulse-time plots. Within these plots there were large peaks as well as a variety of smaller peaks. I was later able to confirm that these peaks correlate with reflected waves via the movie monitor.
I must note that I was having some issues with the movie monitors. For some reason, no matter how I moved/oriented the monitor, only half of the image would show.

What I plan to do tomorrow:
I will try to continue to understand the plots I have made. I will also begin working on some other simulations.
Notes for the future:
There are two peaks in the blue:
- the initial peak is the pulse
- the second peak is the wave of the pulse being reflected back by the initial bragg mirrors
- I can eliminate this refelcted wave via the use of a second monitor above the source that records the pulse of the reflected wave
