Despite the name, the Polish breed isn’t from Poland! The breed as we know it today comes from Holland. These tiny, crested chickens are a hoot! As bantams, they will weigh just 1.5 llbs at maturity. Typically calm and docile they can struggle in a mixed flock as their wild crest can interfere with their vision making them easy targets for picking. We recommend having at least two so they always have another crested buddy. The white crested black coloring means black body feathers, topped with a wild crest of white feathers. Matching their tiny size, Bantam Polish hens lay 3-5 tiny, white eggs/week.
NOTE- most bantam breeds of chickens are offered straight run, or unsexed, making it a 50/50 hen/rooster ratio. Flock City bantams are sexed to 90% accuracy (90/10 hen/rooster ratio) reflecting the higher price point. These birds also come with a sex accuracy guarantee. If you suspect a cockerel, and the chick is at least 14 weeks old, you send me a picture so we can determine together. If yes to a cockerel, I send the pics to the hatchery and we both get 50% of our money back.
