Hi! I'm Kyleigh, and I do a lot of the behind the scenes work at Flock and Fleece, along with making some of the items that we sell. I like to focus on pet-oriented products, so I make the bandanas and cat toys. I also have done jewelry and accessories, which I incorporated into Flock and Fleece following a solo project I did prior to meeting Kaitlynne. When you see social media posts or scroll through the website, that's me! I love doing technical work to make sure that our business is running smoothly. I set up our presence at events, respond to emails and other communications, keep track of inventory online, and pretty much everything that has to do with logistics, especially when it is behind a screen. I always do my best to keep the website and social media pages as up to date as possible.
Saying farewell to Dominic, for now! Can't believe summer is over.
If there was only one thing you needed to know about me, it is my love for animals. I have always felt a connection to animals from a young age, and it has only grown since. I feel like I understand animals a lot better than humans most times. I'm always eager to help animals, which has lead to my desired career in animal care. My favorite part of animal care is making sure that the animals' living conditions meet the proper standards for their species and individual needs. Since being at school, I have worked with the following animals (I'm choosing to list from smallest to largest): hermit crabs, baby songbirds, mice, hamsters, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, cats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, guinea fowl, dogs, goats, sheep, pigs, horses, and cows. While I have a special place in my heart for all the animals I have worked with, my favorite are sheep and chickens.
Just rescued baby Milo with his brother Link and sister Petunia (not pictured, they were still quite shy)
Something that not everyone knows about me is that I love learning. I take on every opportunity I can to gain meaningful experience and expand my knowledge. Going to college has been amazing for that reason, especially with animal-related classes. Similar to that, I also love seizing every opportunity of campus involvement that I'm physically able to take part in. The presence of community will be the thing I miss most when I graduate in May. I know that after college, I will always embrace community wherever I can find it.
