Floatify – Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 14, 2026
In short: Floatify stores all your reminders locally on your device. We do not have a server, we do not sell your data, and we do not collect personal information beyond what is strictly necessary to deliver the features you choose to use.
1. Who We Are
Floatify is developed by Mark Bruining. For questions: schurkiedev@gmail.com
2. What Data Floatify Uses
Reminder data (stored locally on your device)
Reminders you create — title, message, date, time, color, and settings — are stored exclusively on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable Google Calendar sync.
App settings (stored locally on your device)
Your preferences such as bubble speed, quiet hours, and vibration settings are stored locally and are never transmitted to any server.
Google Calendar (optional)
If you choose to connect your Google account, Floatify uses Google Sign-In and the Google Calendar API to import your calendar events as reminders. Floatify only reads your calendar — it never writes, modifies, or shares your calendar data. Google's privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Firebase Cloud Messaging (optional)
Floatify uses Firebase to deliver push notifications. No personal content from your reminders is transmitted via Firebase. Google's privacy policy applies: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Wear OS sync (optional)
If you pair Floatify with a Wear OS watch, reminder data is transferred locally between your phone and watch using Google Play Services. No data is sent to external servers.
Device calendar (optional)
With your permission, Floatify can read your local device calendar to display events as reminders. This data is only used within the app and never transmitted externally.
3. Permissions Explained
Draw over other apps — to display floating reminder bubbles on your screen
Notifications — to show reminder alerts
Foreground service — to keep reminders active in the background
Exact alarms — to trigger reminders at precisely the time you set
Receive boot — to restore reminders after a device restart
Read calendar — only used if you enable calendar sync
Internet — only used for Google Calendar sync and Firebase notifications
Vibrate — to vibrate when a reminder appears (if enabled)
Ignore battery optimizations — to ensure reminders are not suppressed when the screen is off
Wake lock — to briefly wake the device when a reminder fires
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to third parties. The only third-party service involved is Google LLC, and only when you use optional features (Google Calendar, Firebase, Wear OS).
5. Deleting Your Data
All data is stored on your device. Delete it via Settings → Apps → Floatify → Storage → Clear Data, or by uninstalling the app. Revoke Google access at: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions
6. Children's Privacy
Floatify is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
