Hi! My name is Arjun. I’m the Discovery Bear. This is my 2nd year on the team.
For the innovation project, I helped work on prototype testing and building. For example, I tested the height of the prototype’s effect on its voltage. I also designed the PCB board for the team as well.
For the robot game, I contributed to the attachment development and launch testing. For example, I created the attachment for the solar farm. I also tested launch 3 with multiple robots to figure out the best one for the game.
FIRST has helped me learn how to work better in groups. It has also helped me gain more perseverance in my everyday life.
Hi! My name is Jaden. I’m the Innovation Bear. This is my 5th year on the team (including 1 year of FLL Explore).
For the innovation project, I helped to research the original idea that inspired our project and to find contacts for the researchers working on it. I also soldered LEDs, installed many connectors, and designed the PCB board.
For the robot game, I mainly worked on doing the Launch 4 missions, testing the wind turbine, hybrid car and smart grid. I also implemented a way to correct the robot automatically after color aligning. I tested the attachment for Launch 2 and changed the design of it to have less friction.
FLL has taught me just how important Core Values are. For example, I need to use teamwork in sports like soccer in order to win and you have to include everyone to get the best solution.
Hi! My name is Bella and I am the Fun Bear! This is my 4th year on the team.
For the innovation project, I helped with research on rain power and how it is already being used today as well as building our prototype, testing our prototype, soldering the PVC boards, creating our PVC boards on Flux.ai.
For the robot game, I mainly worked on Launch 3 by building and refining the attachment. I also helped with Launch 1’s navigation to create it into a smooth drive. Another thing that I contributed to was I working on code development and extensive testing and experimentation with the launches.
I also took part in naming the lego dinosaur Dino. Another thing that was fun was the team challenges that we did to have better problem solving skills in the future.
FLL has helped me with my stamina, perseverance, and building lego skills. It has also helped me be a more innovative and creative person.
Hi! My name is Leo. I’m the Impact Bear. This is my 4th year on the team.
For the innovation project, I helped to create the PVC frame for the prototype, and I also worked to help design the raindrop generator and its 3D-printed container.
For the robot game, I worked on the navigation and solar farm unit grabber for Launch 1, the oil platform attachment for Launch 2, among with implementing smooth driving to reduce the time and refining other various aspects of the game. I helped to test the robot game many times to rid it of the bugs and increase consistency.
FLL has taught me invaluable skills for life later on, such as how to work well in a team, and also that if you never give up in your pursuit of your goals, then eventually you’ll find success.
Hi! My name is Mia, and I’m the Inclusion Bear! This is my 5th year on the team (including 1 year of FLL Explore).
For project, I worked on 3D designing our device boxes in OnShape and taught my other teammates how to use it as well. I helped with our initial experimenting and designing of various devices as well as testing different settings to generate the most voltage and current.
In the robot game, I mainly worked on Launch 2 by designing both attachments and coding the launch. In addition, I experimented with a variety of new mechanisms such as rack and pinions, pistons, and one-way door. I helped with other launches as well by improving the code and attachment design.
Lastly, I helped organize a lot of games for us to do during break.
FLL has taught me how important it is to include others. In school, whenever I see someone sitting alone, I always try to go over and talk to them, because I know it makes them feel a lot better.
Hi! My name is Allison, and I’m the Teamwork Bear. This is my 2nd year on the team.
For the innovation project, I helped do the experiments. I also helped solder the LEDS to say “FLL” which was really fun! I also helped design the PCB board for the team.
For the robot game, I mainly worked on Launch 2 for the oil truck where I created the cart to connect to the truck. I also helped work on Launch 3 where I did a lot of testing for hanging the water units. I also helped with testing for all the other missions.
FLL has helped me become less shy. Through group discussions during team meetings, it has helped me become better about voicing my ideas and participating in group discussions.
