1. OVERVIEW
FlipIdioms ("we", "our", or "the app") is an English idiom learning application designed for IGCSE and A Level students. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
2. DATA WE COLLECT
2a. Data You Provide
We do not require account registration. The app operates without collecting your name, email address, or any personal identifiers.
2b. Data Collected Automatically
- Device ID: A randomly generated, anonymous device identifier is used solely to save your learning progress across sessions. This ID cannot be linked back to you personally.
- Progress Data: The idiom cards you have marked as completed are stored in our database linked only to your anonymous device ID.
- Purchase Status: Whether you have unlocked the full card set is recorded against your anonymous device ID.
2c. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or physical address.
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not track your browsing behavior outside the app.
- We do not use advertising SDKs or third-party analytics trackers.
- We do not sell your data to any third party.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
The anonymous device ID and progress data are used exclusively to:
- Save and restore your learning progress when you reopen the app.
- Remember your purchase status so you are not asked to pay again.
4. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
Your progress data is stored securely on Supabase (supabase.com), a cloud database platform. Data is protected with row-level security policies, meaning only your device can read or write your own progress. All data transmission occurs over HTTPS/TLS encrypted connections.
5. DATA RETENTION
Your anonymous progress data is retained for as long as you use the app. If you uninstall the app and reinstall it on a new device, a new device ID is generated and prior progress cannot be recovered.
6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
FlipIdioms is designed for school students aged 6 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 6 has used the app, please contact us and we will delete any associated data promptly.
7. CAMERA AND PHOTO LIBRARY
The app requests camera and photo library permissions only if you choose to use features that require them. These permissions are not required to use the core learning features. No photos or camera data are uploaded to our servers.
8. IN-APP PURCHASES
Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not handle payment card data directly. Your purchase receipt is verified through the respective platform. Please refer to Apple's and Google's privacy policies for information on how they handle payment data.
9. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The app uses Supabase for backend data storage. Supabase's privacy policy is available at: https://supabase.com/privacy
10. YOUR RIGHTS
You may request deletion of your anonymous progress data at any time by contacting us. Since data is linked only to a device ID, please include your device ID (visible in the app's settings, if available) in your request.
11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
