Drones are today’s new technology hype. How can we be future developers of ground breaking engineering marvels without aerodynamic flips and rolls? Drones push the limit and allow growth in a variety of different skill areas. What many might see as toys, we see circuitry, pulse width modulations, PID cycles, integrals and derivatives, gyros, mosfets and high discharged current; all brought into a beautiful design and merged together through layers and layers of programming instructions. We choose to build and race because it is a challenge in many respects. To learn the theory in class is interesting. But when you apply it to build and utilize a creation?... OUTSTANDING! The drone in flight is the fruit of our work; it encourages us and those who see the drones to keep working towards their educational goals. The awe they bring and the lit up eyes when people find we built them from scratch is a form of acknowledgement that is quite hard to explain but we strive for such a reward. A supreme accomplishment to have blurred the line between work and play.
