"By Centennial students for Centennial Students"
Welcome to the Financial Literacy Club at Centennial C.V.I. The F.L.C was started in May of 2020 by Muhammad Khan and Isaac Hayes. They hoped to ease some of the uncertainty students often feel towards their personal finances. After consolidating a curriculum with representatives at CPA Ontario and the Lang School of Business and Economics, they feel confident in their ability to help students to take the next step in becoming financially responsible. Join along as the club tackles issues like how to budgest & save, earn & grow and manage money as young adults.
Muhammad is a student with a passion for business with a particular interest in finance & economics. As a member of clubs such as Academic Council and School Events Council he hopes to leave a positive impact on his school and peers. He hopes to purse a degree in finance, and then work in the financial industry from working on the sell side in investment banking to the buy side in private equity and even in a hedge fund as his peak. He hopes to meet his strong asiprations by working on improving his current skillset from Accounting case studies at Deca to business ethics events at the Business Pentathlon. His hobbies include playing soccer, tennis & volleyball and studying branches of philosophy; Aesthetics and Logic are his current areas of interest.
Going into his 12th and final year of highschool, Isaac shares this passion for business and investments. Participating in both the University business pentathlon , DECA and a Co-op position at the Bank of Montreal, he is continuing to enhance his own skill set in order to pursue his goals. These goals consist of a university education majoring in accounting, aquiring a CPA and pursuing a career in the world of banking. From auditing and general accounting, to private equity and investment banking, Isaac's aspirations backed by his ambition and interest in the global economy will be his greatest tools. His current interests are modern architecture, sports specifically soccer, and stock market investing.
Muhammad and Isaac are both still high schools students and will do their best to objectively inform students on different tactics but as such they are still sucseptible to slip ups and mistakes. They advise everyone to consult professionals before performing any risky investments and will not be liable for any loss or gain of asset value. If anyone feels either of them is informing wrong or could improve upon something don't hesitate to tell them!
