Flat Swamp Cemetery No. 1 is located down and across the street from Flat Swamp Cemetery No. 2 on Cemetery Road in Newtown (near the neighborhood of Dodgingtown), Connecticut. It was established in 1812. Blink and you'll miss it. It is not easily accessible, especially in the warmer months. It is a bit of a walk through the woods, and the entire burial ground is overgrown; I couldn't get very close to any of the stones. Most are illegible.
Estimated number of interments, as of January 2024: at least 68.
