This Privacy Policy describes how we handles information when you use the Flashtap mobile application (“App”), available on Google Play.
By installing or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
## 1. Summary
Flashtap is a simple flashlight utility. It turns your device’s rear LED torch on and off. The App:
- Does **not** require an account or sign-in
- Does **not** collect, store, or sell your personal information
- Does **not** show advertisements
- Does **not** use analytics or tracking SDKs
- Does **not** upload photos, videos, or audio to our servers
The only device access the App needs is the **camera** permission, which Android uses to control the hardware torch. The App does **not** record photos, videos, or microphone audio.
## 2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not knowingly collect:
- Name, email address, phone number, or other contact details
- Location data (GPS or network-based)
- Photos, videos, or audio recordings
- Contacts, calendar, or files on your device
- Payment or financial information
- Advertising identifiers for profiling
- Usage analytics tied to your identity
There is no user registration and no cloud backup of your activity inside the App.
## 3. Device Permissions and On-Device Processing
### Camera (required on Android)
Flashtap requests **Camera** permission so it can use the system camera API to enable and disable the device **torch (flashlight)**.
- A minimal, hidden camera preview may run locally on your device only while the torch feature is active.
- We do **not** capture, save, or transmit images or video from your camera.
- Camera data stays on your device and is processed only to control the LED torch.
If you deny Camera permission, the flashlight cannot work; the App will show instructions to enable permission in system settings.
### Microphone
Flashtap does **not** use the microphone and does **not** request microphone access for its core functionality.
## 4. Data Storage
- Torch on/off state exists only in the App’s memory while it is running.
- We do not maintain a database of your usage on our servers.
- We do not use local storage (such as shared preferences) to persist personal data for this App’s flashlight feature.
Uninstalling the App removes the App and its local data from your device.
## 5. Third-Party Services
The App is built with **Expo** and **React Native** open-source libraries. These components run on your device as part of the App package.
- We do **not** integrate third-party advertising networks.
- We do **not** integrate third-party analytics (for example, Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, or similar) in the Flashtap release described in this policy.
- Standard **Google Play** distribution may involve Google processing limited technical data (such as crash reports or install metrics) according to [Google’s policies](https://policies.google.com/privacy). That processing is between you and Google as the store operator, not data we receive from you through the App itself.
When you open external links (if any are added in future versions), those websites have their own privacy practices.
## 6. Children’s Privacy
Flashtap is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it if we ever received it (we do not expect to receive such data for this App).
## 7. Security
Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is no central user database for this App to breach. You should still keep your device updated and download the App only from official sources (Google Play).
## 8. International Users
The App is offered globally. If you use it outside your home country, you do so at your own choice. Processing described here occurs on your device.
## 9. Your Choices and Rights
You may:
- **Deny or revoke** Camera permission in Android Settings → Apps → Flashtap → Permissions
- **Uninstall** the App at any time
Depending on your region (for example, EEA/UK under GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we do not collect personal data through the App, those rights generally do not apply to data held by us—but you may contact us with any question.
## 10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date at the top. For material changes, we may provide notice in the App or on the page where this policy is hosted. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
