Flash Reader ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application "Flash Reader" handles your information.
We respect your right to privacy. Flash Reader operates as an offline-first utility app. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any external servers.
2.1 Personal Data We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or location data. You do not need to create an account to use Flash Reader.
2.2 Local Data Storage Flash Reader stores data locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences system. This data is strictly accessible only by the app on your device and includes:
Reading History: Snippets of text you have recently read.
App Settings: Your preferences, such as Words Per Minute (WPM) speed and text size.
This data remains on your device and is removed if you uninstall the application or clear the app's data in your device settings.
2.3 Clipboard Data Flash Reader includes a "Paste from Clipboard" feature to allow you to speed-read text from other apps.
How we use it: When you tap the "Paste" button, the app retrieves the text currently stored in your system clipboard.
Privacy: This text is processed immediately for display and saved to your local history. It is never transmitted to us or any third party.
While the app itself does not collect data, it may use standard third-party services provided by the Android operating system to function correctly:
Google Play Services: Used for core system functionalities and security checks required by the Google Play Store.
Flash Reader does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. Since our app does not collect data, children can use it safely without risk of data exposure.
We value your trust in using our app. Since all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data relies on the security of your mobile device. We do not maintain external databases that could be breached.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
