Welcome. I am Jason, a macro photography enthusiast on a never ending journey to produce the most pleasing and detailed macro photos possible!
Like most other macro photographers on this same journey have found, using a flash provides the most consistent light and the most detailed photos, however the biggest problem with flash photography for macro is diffusion. Flashes without diffusion are very harsh and create hot-spots on your subjects (particularly shiny subjects) which considerably reduces sharpness, you also get the same undesired effect when photographing in full Sun.
Again, like most other macro photographers, I built my own diffusers out of whatever materials I could find to try and help this issue. Eventually, after many iterations of different designs, I got to a version that worked well, was compact and robust. I then decided it was time to make these diffusers more professional looking with the possibility of making them available to others who either did not want to, or have the skills to create their own diffusers.
I am a CAD designer by profession and I also own a 3D printer, both of which go hand in hand together, so I started drawing and came up with the professional finish I was looking for.
So far I have created diffusers for the Canon MT-24EX and Yongnuo YN24 which are designed for being used with the MP-E65 lens. They can be used with other lenses but because of their size they are less effective when used with lenses with a longer focal length, or when the subject is much further away.

Click on the pictures below for information on each diffuser type. They are both the same when in use but there are some slight differences regarding the mounting angles and accessories included.
