Our Inspiration: A Voice for Tradition
Kiana and her sister representing Iran
The Flags Around the World exists today because one student believed our traditions were worth saving. When the Flags Around the World event faced cancellation due to low participation, Kiana stepped forward. She didn’t just notice a loss; she advocated for a solution.
Through her heartfelt letter to parents, Kiana reminded us that this event is more than just a celebration—it is a vital part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. It is a space where students develop their identity, share their heritage with pride, and practice the essential values of respect, curiosity, and empathy.
Inspired by Kiana’s voice, our community came together to support her vision. This event is a testament to what happens when we listen to our students and come together to celebrate the diverse cultures that make Running Springs Academy so unique.
