How to Properly Care for Your Decorated T-Shirts

Your custom-printed t-shirts are an investment, and proper care ensures they stay vibrant and comfortable. Follow these simple steps to keep your decorated apparel looking its best!

1. Wash with Care

Proper washing techniques are essential to maintain the design and fabric quality.

Before Washing:

✅ Turn the t-shirt inside out to protect the printed design.
✅ Separate by color to avoid bleeding (especially dark and bright colors).
✅ Use cold water for the wash cycle.

During Washing:

✅ Use mild, non-abrasive detergents.
✅ Set your machine to a gentle cycle.
✅ Avoid fabric softeners and bleach, which can degrade the print.

2. Drying the Right Way

Heat is a major culprit in damaging prints and fabric. Follow these drying tips:

✅ Air-dry your t-shirts whenever possible. Hang them on a drying rack or lay them flat.
✅ If using a dryer, choose a low-heat setting.
✅ Avoid overloading the dryer to prevent excessive friction between shirts.

🚫 Never wring out or twist your shirts aggressively, as this can weaken the fibers and distort the design.

3. Ironing & Steaming

Want a wrinkle-free t-shirt without damaging the design?

✅ Turn the shirt inside out before ironing.
✅ Use a low-heat setting and avoid direct contact with the print.
✅ If needed, place a thin cotton cloth over the design while ironing.
✅ Steaming is a great alternative to remove wrinkles safely.

🚫 Do NOT use a high-heat iron directly on the decoration, as it can melt or crack the design.

4. Storing Your T-Shirts

Proper storage keeps your t-shirts looking fresh and prevents unnecessary wear.

✅ Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry place.
✅ Hang on padded hangers for long-term storage.
✅ Keep away from direct sunlight to avoid fading.

🚫 Avoid stacking heavy items on top of folded shirts to prevent creases from setting into the design.

5. Removing Stains Without Damage

Accidents happen, but you can safely remove stains while protecting your print.

✅ Blot (don’t rub!) the stain with a damp cloth.
✅ Use mild soap or stain remover (avoid harsh chemicals).
✅ Rinse with cold water and air dry.

🚫 Do NOT scrub aggressively or use hot water, as this can cause fading.
