The 2026 FJ World Championship will take place in Rio Marina, Isola d’Elba, Italy, between July 27 and July 31. The organising club is the Centro Velico Elbano (CVE), which is located on the Rio Marina harbour. The beautiful harbour and lovely Rio Marina village will be the centre of all FJ 2026 Worlds' activities (see below for a summary).

Registration

The 2026 FJ Worlds Portal is open, visit https://sites.google.com/view/fj-2026-worlds. The portal provides general and logistic information, the Notice of Race, the link to the  registration page at Racing Rules of Sailing, as well as forms and instructions to reserve the ferry to Isola d’Elba from the port of Piombino (see #6 below). Register ASAP, the early-bird entry fee is only €260 for registration before May 31 2026. Payments can be made by credit card or by bank transfer (bank transfer only to pay the reduced fee of €260). If opting for a bank transfer, use the following information:

If you travel with a campervan, caravan, or tent and would be happy with camping outside a developed campground, you can do so in the area of Vigneria, which will be reserved for the event and which is about 500m from the harbour. There is plenty, but not unlimited space there. It will also be used to park our cars. The area will be equipped with water, electricity, waste disposal for chemical toilets, and sanitary containers (with showers, toilets, and sinks). Camping at Vigneria is free of charge. If you plan to use a tent, note that the area has hard, dry terrain in summer (but with an unbeatable sea view!)

Ferry and discounts

Rio Marina is reached by ferry from the Port of Piombino (45 min). In the unfortunate case that the ferry to Rio Marina gets fully booked (see below), you can use ferries to Cavo (30 min) or Portoferraio (60 min), and reach Rio Marina driving from there. Keep in mind that Isola d’Elba roads are narrow. Don’t just trust the GPS; double-check so you don’t end up on difficult roads with trailers. Starting in February 2026, you’ll be able to book a ferry with a 30% discount. The discounted return ticket, including a car, trailer, and two passengers, is expected to cost around 290 euros. The price for large campervans will be somewhat higher. Also, keep in mind that prices vary during the week: prices are higher during weekends.

The booking procedure is completed in three steps:

1. Download the ferry reservation form at the reservation page of this site and e-mail it to the ferry company at moby.portoferraio@moby.it indicating route and providing information about your vehicle, passengers, and trailer.

2. The ferry company will send you by e-mail a link to purchase the ticket online by credit card applying a 30% discount (the quote is for the discounted price). The link label is "Effettua Pagamento" (Make your Payment), and is valid for 48 hours.

3. Upon receiving your payment, the ferry company will e-mail you the ticket in PDF format. Keep a paper or electronic copy of this PDF to board the ferry.

Please note that the discounted fare can be obtained only following this procedure (do not book online following other procedures). Also note that the discount applies only to trips between July 22 and August 3. Ferry space is limited and there is no reserved space for the event, so make sure you book your ferry ticket right away to secure your preferred travel date and destination.

In addition to the 30% ferry discount, participants receive a 10–15% discount at all Rio Marina restaurants and bars for the duration of the World Championship. The discount card will be inside the welcome package you will receive at on-site registration.
