Welcome to FIZZLE (“we,” “our,” or “us”). Your privacy and the security of your personal reflections are our highest priority. FIZZLE is built as a 100% Local-First Application, meaning all your diary entries, audio recordings, photos, and profile information remain strictly on your personal device.
By using FIZZLE, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
FIZZLE does not collect, transmit, store, or sell any personal data on external servers or cloud databases.
Account & Profile Data: When you create an account, enter a username, password, date of birth, or profile picture, this data is saved locally on your device in secure app storage.
Diary Entries & Media: Your written entries, voice recordings, and attached photos/images are stored locally on your device's internal storage and are encrypted locally.
Time Synchronization: To ensure accurate date tracking regardless of phone clock modifications, FIZZLE performs a lightweight time check against standard network time servers (google.com). No personal identifying information is transmitted during time synchronization.
To provide core app functionality, FIZZLE requests the following Android system permissions:
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used solely to display your daily journaling reminders and morning alarms scheduled by you.
Exact Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM & USE_EXACT_ALARM): Used to trigger gentle reminders and alarms at exact times.
Photos & Media (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Used strictly when you select images from your gallery to attach to a diary entry or set a profile photo.
Audio Recording (RECORD_AUDIO): Used strictly when you choose to record a voice memory in a diary entry. Audio files remain on your device.
Local Data: All data remains on your device for as long as you keep the app installed.
Account & Memory Erasure: When you use the Delete Account option inside FIZZLE and confirm your password, all your local data—including profile preferences, diary entries, voice recordings, and attached photos—is permanently deleted from your device.
App Uninstall: Uninstalling FIZZLE or clearing app data via Android Settings will permanently erase all local entries unless you previously created a backup using the Export Memories feature.
FIZZLE contains no third-party advertising SDKs, no analytics trackers, and no cloud backup servers. Your data is never shared with, sold to, or monetized by any third party.
We implement local security measures (including PIN locks and local encryption for journal entries) to protect your entries from unauthorized physical access on your device. However, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and PIN code.
FIZZLE does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. All data provided during setup remains on the user's local device.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be reflected within the app's internal Privacy Policy screen.
