1. Introduction Welcome to FixitMate. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our FixitMate mobile application, whether as a Client requesting services or a Worker providing services.
2. Information We Collect We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the app. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with the app:
Personal & Contact Data: First name, last name, email address, phone number, and physical address (Barangay, City, Street) for service deployment.
Service & Transaction Data: Service history, wallet balances, booking statuses, service categories (e.g., Plumbing, Electrical), and transaction logs (payments and refunds).
Profile & Verification Data: Profile pictures, professional biographies, and system credentials (for Pro and Standard verification levels).
3. Camera and Photo Library Access FixitMate requires access to your device's Camera and Photo Library for core functionality:
For Workers: To upload professional certificates, licenses, and "Proof of Work" images to your Portfolio to verify your expertise.
For Clients & Workers: To upload or update your account profile picture. We only process the specific images you choose to upload. Images are securely transmitted and stored in our cloud database to build trust within the platform.
4. Location Data We request access to your location services to enable the "Mission Tracking" feature.
Location data is used to provide accurate deployment coordinates for Workers and to allow Clients to track the arrival of their booked service provider.
You can revoke location access at any time through your device settings, though this may limit the functionality of active mission tracking.
5. How We Use Your Information We use the information we collect to operate and improve our platform:
To facilitate account creation, authenticate users, and manage account security.
To match Clients with appropriate Workers based on requested services and deployment areas.
To process in-app wallet deductions, payments, and automated refunds for declined missions.
To manage the review and rating system based on completed jobs.
To send push notifications regarding incoming missions, booking updates, and administrative alerts (e.g., account suspension or verification).
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure We do not sell your personal data. We only share information in the following situations:
Between Users: When a booking is confirmed, we share necessary information between the Client and the Worker (e.g., Client Identity, Deployment Area, Worker Name, and Contact details) to fulfill the service.
Third-Party Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services, specifically Google Firebase, for secure database hosting, user authentication, and cloud storage.
7. Data Security and Retention We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures (including encrypted cloud databases) to help protect your personal information. We retain user data, including mission logs and reviews, as long as your account is active. Inactive accounts may be automatically archived after 90 days of inactivity for security purposes.
8. Your Privacy Rights Depending on your location, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you via your Profile Dashboard.
Request corrections to your identity, address, or portfolio data.
Request the deletion of your account and associated data by contacting our support team.
