FiveByFive

FiveByFive is a simple word game with a diference-designed to challenge.Make five words using the scrambled five letter word (in green).

You have to make five words in turn that must follow 

the constraints listed below.

The first guess must start with the first letter of the scrambled word-any valid word can be used as your guess as long as it follows the constraint.

The second guess must have the second letter of the scrambled word in the second position

The third guess must have the third letter of the scrambled word in the third position and follow this logic through to the fifth guess.

The overarching objective of the game is to complete the grid under the constraints with as few unique words as possible.

Completing the objective using just one word is a perfect result and should be scored 30 points.-completing the game using two words scores 20 points

Completing the game using three words scores 8 points.

Using four  words- 6 points and five words 4 points.

There are bonus points of 70 if you manage a one word solve.

There are bonus points of 50 if you manage to solve the anagram.

The game is lost if you make three errors.

The game is lost if it takes longer than 120 seconds.

The stats popup displays a histogram of your achievements -showing word solve counts (1 to 5),  as well as percentage wins ,best time , games played ,average score per game and anagrams solved (A)

As an aside the ↓ on the stats pop up is a symbol for the acrostic and represents the count of acrostics found - as a bonus if you able to compose one you get 90 points.

The index figure just reflects the number of unique words you have used as a rolling total.

A one word solve is possible but only when the scrambled word is not the original word-so one word solves are few and far between.

The demo gives a quick overview of how to play and also if pressed just after the game is finished  will list possible alternative words and if you have just lost the game will show you how it could have been solved.
