Foldie is an autonomous clothes-folding robot engineered to automate one of the final remaining manual tasks in the home laundry process. The device integrates a Raspberry Pi 5 controller, a computer vision-based classification system, and a servo-actuated folding platform to detect and fold common garments. A mechanical structure built with high-torque 35kg 360° servos enables complete folding motion, while a parallel battery configuration ensures consistent power delivery. An LCD screen provides real-time status updates, improving user interaction. Foldie executes its full folding cycle in 15–20 seconds per item with precision and stability. The project demonstrates successful integration of embedded systems, mechanical design, and artificial intelligence, validating the robot’s feasibility and performance in domestic environments.

Embedded AI systems used in critical applications such as defense, surveillance, and industrial automation are increasingly vulnerable to tampering, reverse engineering, and side-channel attacks. Traditional embedded platforms lack built-in security features to verify software integrity, protect sensitive data, and ensure safe execution of AI models in untrusted environments. There is a need for a secure vision system that integrates real-time object detection with robust hardware-based security to prevent unauthorized access and maintain system trustworthiness.

Traditional to-do lists and task management applications often lack interactivity and personalization, leading to overlooked tasks and inefficiencies. Many existing solutions require constant manual input and do not seamlessly integrate into a user’s daily workflow. The Desk Buddy AI Software will leverage advanced speech recognition, intuitive user interface design, and smart scheduling algorithms to offer a seamless and efficient task management experience.

For students, adapting to the ever-changing job landscape can be very challenging, particularly in finding career opportunities, mentorship, and professional development resources. Mentors likewise have a challenge in finding a mentee with similar goals and career interests that they can efficiently guide. Many people have inadequate access to opportunities that allow them to build their professional networks. In addition, with the demand for personalized services and scalable solutions, many platforms simply cannot provide the right mentor or the appropriate resources for a specific user or use case.
The most remarkable challenge here is that the available platforms do not seem to put together all the necessary components into one cohesive and user-friendly solution that utilizes AI matching, secure user identity verification, facilitates effective user-to-user communication, and provides access to community resources that highlight current and upcoming career opportunities all while providing positive feedback through a gamification element where user are awarded badges for reaching specific milestones. What is needed is a single platform for discovering career opportunities, direct contact with a mentor that allows for tailored suggestions for professional development, and practical engagement.
The challenges outlined above is what our team hopes to be solve by the innovative design of a platform. The suggested product is a modern and scalable system which aims to link active students with suitable mentors and opportunities in an engaging and personalized manner. The platform incorporates a number of student and mentor friendly features that utilize the latest AI skill based matching systems and real time communication technology via chat to improve functionality and user interaction.
