FitSync understands the importance of your data and its privacy. Any data collected remains on device, and thus is not shared with the developer, nor otherwise interested parties.
It is important to note, a user can choose not to share data with FitSync at any time. This will result in the loss of some functionality and accuracy, including badges earned and calories burned during a workout.
Data collected by the app includes:
Heart Rate - If a user has an Apple Watch or other and is tracking this data in Apple Health, FitSync will request access. The purpose is to:
Show heart rate over time in the reports sections.
Calculate calories burned during a workout.
Steps - If a user has an Apple Watch or other and is tracking this data in Apple Health, FitSync will request access. The purpose is to determine if a user has met their step goal on a given day.
Active Energy - This access is to allow FitSync to add calories burned to a user's Apple Health app.
Workouts - This access is to allow FitSync to add workouts to a user's Apple Health and Fitness apps.
Weight - This access is to allow FitSync to add a weight data point to a user's Apple Health app.
This access can be controlled via the Apple Health app at any time under the Sharing tab -> Apps and Services -> FitSync.
Other data entered directly to the app can include:
Age
Gender
Weight (actual weight, goal weight, and over/under)
Workout goals (minutes and workouts)
Step goal
Calories burned goal
This data is used to determine calories burned during a workout, when certain badges are earned, or both.
This data is optional and the user can delete the data via the Profile tab within the FitSync app.
