The goals of the Austintown Fitch Sports Performance Program are to maximize the athletic potential of each student-athlete while decreasing injury risk through improved movement capabilities and physical resilience. We will build athletic foundations from the ground up to allow improved athleticism to transfer to any sporting endeavor. To achieve these goals we will design our training with a focus on long term athletic development following the Youth Physical Development Model for each athlete in the program. By taking this approach to training we will meet each athlete where they are in their physical development and allow the sports performance staff to progress each of our training parameters (speed, agility, power, strength, conditioning and mobility) to see continued improvements throughout the school year.
Training methods will be athlete-centered and results driven. Testing/Assessment will be frequent and built within the training program to enable sport coaches and performance staff to make adjustments as necessary to see continued progress. By utilizing this approach we will enhance buy-in and accountability from the student-athlete.
Another key piece to our philosophy is the program's culture. Results will only be achieved through hard work, consistency, dedication, accountability and a drive to better oneself and their teammates. We will foster an environment of motivation and encouragement where coaches and athletes will work to bring the best out of one another and #FeedTheNest!
Our Coaches are invested in each student-athlete and will work their hardest to cultivate the best environment possible for success in the weight room, on the field/court/mat and in life.
