  - Weight, height, For Calculating BMI (calculated based on weight and height)

  - App interactions, crash reports, and analytics for improvement  

4. Media & Files 

  - If you choose to upload progress photos, we collect and store these images securely  in your local storage.

5. Permissions Required

  - Camera - To capture and upload progress photos  

  - Storage - To save and access progress photos locally on your devices

  - When you register or input data into the app (e.g., weight, height)  

  2. Automatically

  - Through app usage analytics, crash reports, and permissions granted for media access

- To calculate and display your BMI  

- To improve the app’s functionality and user experience  

- To analyze app usage and performance  

- To store and manage uploaded progress photos securely

HOW WE STORE AND PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION :

  - Data is stored securely in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Render  

2. Security Measures

 - Django Security Features - Protection against SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), and cross-site request forgery (CSRF)  

  - PostgreSQL Security - Data encryption, secure authentication, and regular backups  

  - Render Security - Automatic TLS/SSL encryption, DDoS protection, and isolated containerized environments  

  - Access Controls - Restricted access to authorized personnel only  

3. Data Retention

  - We retain your data for as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by law  

  - If you request account deletion, we erase your data within 30 days

DATA SHARING :

1. We do not share your personal or health data with third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other purposes  

2. Legal Requirements  

  - If required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property, we may share your data with the relevant authorities. 

  - We will never share your data with third-party organizations for their own use.

- Correction  - Update or correct inaccurate information  

- Deletion - Request to delete your data permanently. Data will be removed  instantly

PERMISSIONS & DATA USAGE :

FitBuddy requires the following permissions to function properly  -

-   Camera  - To allow users to capture and upload progress photos  

-   Storage - To save and access progress photos locally on your device  

-  Internet Access - To sync data securely with our servers  

We do not store your photos on our servers  -

- All progress photos are stored locally on your device and are not shared with third parties  

- We do not access your photos, videos, or files without your explicit permission  

PERSONALIZED MEAL PLANNER :

FitBuddy offers a personalized meal planner feature that uses the MealDB API to suggest meals based on the ingredients you input  

1. Ingredient Data -  When you input ingredients, this data is sent to the MealDB API to generate meal suggestions. We do not store your ingredient data on our servers  

2. MealDB API - The MealDB API processes your ingredient data to provide meal suggestions. We do not control the data handling practices of the MealDB API, so we recommend reviewing their privacy policy for more information  

3. Data Usage - Your ingredient data is used solely to provide you with personalized meal suggestions and is not shared with third parties for any other purpose  

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY :

FitBuddy is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without parental consent.

 CHANGES TO THIS POLICY :

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or email. Your continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
