Sure, it may be easier said than done, but research shows that positive emotions are really good for the body.
A positive outlook not only aides in healthy behavior changes, but can reduce inflammation in the body, and lower the risk diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis and even overall risk of death.
Soโฆ How do we โstay positiveโ, especially during challenging times?
For one, we understand that life is always going to have positive and negatives, happy and sad, good and bad. I also try to practice perspective awareness. That appreciating someone else might have it harder. Yes, that might not make your situation any less difficult but I find it helps you feel as though we are all in this together. That while some days might be hard, there are days that feel a little less heavy.
Next, create the positive emotions you want to feel!
Understand that you are the person who generates your emotions by what you think. You are in the driver's seat.
Sure, it may be hard to feel excited or cheerful during stressful times, but we can tap into some other emotions - even if just for a few minutes here and there throughout the day.
