This Privacy Policy describes how Identiq Infotech ("we," "us," or "our") collects, accesses, uses, stores, shares, retains, and deletes information when you use the Fit Bharat mobile application (the "App").
This policy applies to the Fit Bharat app on Android (package com.app.steptracker) and iOS.
Contact for all privacy matters: developer@identiqinfotech.com
Do we access health and fitness data? Yes. We access your step count, walking and running distance, floors climbed, and exercise time. This data is read from Apple HealthKit on iOS and Android Health Connect on Android, and only after you grant permission.
Do we sell your data? No. Never, under any circumstances.
Do we use health data for advertising? No. Never. Health data is never shared with advertising networks or data brokers.
Do we store health data on our servers? Only in part. Your detailed daily health data stays on your device. Only your weekly step total and goal progress are uploaded, so that the leaderboard and team features can work.
How long do we keep your data? Detailed health data on your device is kept for 31 days and then automatically deleted. Account data on our servers is kept until you delete your account. The full schedule is in Section 9.
Can you delete your data? Yes. You can delete everything from within the App in four taps, or by emailing us. Instructions are in Section 10.
Fit Bharat accesses health and fitness data through Apple HealthKit on iOS and Android Health Connect on Android. We access this data only after you explicitly grant permission, and we access only the four data types described below.
Step count Read from the Steps permission on Apple HealthKit, and the android.permission.health.READ_STEPS permission on Android Health Connect. We use it to display your daily and weekly step counts, calculate your progress toward your step goal, and rank you on the leaderboard.
Walking and running distance Read from the Distance Walking + Running permission on Apple HealthKit, and the android.permission.health.READ_DISTANCE permission on Android Health Connect. We use it to display the distance you have covered alongside your step count.
Floors climbed Read from the Flights Climbed permission on Apple HealthKit, and the android.permission.health.READ_FLOORS_CLIMBED permission on Android Health Connect. We use it to calculate and display an estimated elevation gain metric.
Exercise and workout time Read from the Apple Exercise Time permission on Apple HealthKit, and the android.permission.health.READ_EXERCISE permission on Android Health Connect. We use it to display how much active time you have logged.
We access this data on a read-only basis. Fit Bharat does not write, modify, or delete any data in Apple Health or Health Connect.
We do not access any other health data. Specifically, Fit Bharat does not access your heart rate, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep data, blood pressure, blood glucose, body weight, body temperature, oxygen saturation, nutrition data, reproductive health data, menstrual or fertility data, medical records, medications, mental health data, or any clinical health records.
We use the health data listed above solely to provide the fitness-tracking features you have requested. Specifically:
To display your steps, distance, elevation, and active time inside the App.
To calculate your progress against the weekly step goal you set.
To show your daily and weekly activity history within the App.
To calculate your position on the Fit Bharat leaderboard.
To calculate your contribution to any team you have joined.
To generate motivational reminder notifications about your step progress, delivered locally from your device.
On your device — primary storage. Your detailed daily health data — the per-day step count, distance, elevation, and active time — is stored in a local database on your device. This detailed daily data is not uploaded to our servers.
On our servers — limited aggregates only. So that the leaderboard and team features can work, a small number of health-derived values are uploaded to our servers, hosted on Google Cloud Firestore, and associated with your account. These are:
Your total step count for the current week, which is a single aggregate number.
Your goal progress percentage, which is a single number from 0 to 100.
Your weekly step goal, which is the target number you set yourself.
If you join a team, your step contribution to that team.
We do not upload your per-day breakdown, your raw HealthKit or Health Connect records, the timestamps of individual activity, or your distance, elevation, or exercise-time data to our servers.
We make the following binding commitments regarding health and fitness data.
We never sell health or fitness data. Not to anyone, under any circumstances.
We never use health or fitness data for advertising or marketing. Health data is never transmitted to Google AdMob or to any other advertising network, ad exchange, or data broker.
We never use health or fitness data for any purpose other than the App features described in Section 2.2.
We never use health or fitness data to make decisions about credit, lending, insurance eligibility or pricing, employment, or housing, and we do not provide it to anyone who does.
We do not share health or fitness data with third parties, with three narrow exceptions: the cloud infrastructure providers described in Section 7, who store it on our behalf under contract; sharing that you explicitly direct, such as joining a team, which shares your step contribution with that team's members; and disclosure that is required by law.
Your step total is visible to other users only in the specific ways you choose: on the public leaderboard once you have recorded steps, and to fellow members of any team you join.
You can revoke Fit Bharat's access to your health data at any time, without deleting your account. See Section 11 for instructions. Revoking access stops all further collection immediately.
When you sign in to Fit Bharat using Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, we receive and store the following on our servers:
Your email address.
Your display name, and where provided by Apple, your first and last name.
Your profile picture URL.
A unique account identifier assigned by Firebase Authentication.
The sign-in method you used, along with your account creation and update timestamps.
We use this information to create and maintain your account, to authenticate you, to display your name and photo on the leaderboard and within teams, and to respond to your support requests.
We never receive your Google or Apple account password.
During onboarding and while using the App, you provide the following.
Your age. This is stored on your device only and is never uploaded to our servers. We use it to contextualize your activity data within the App.
Your gender. This is stored on your device only and is never uploaded to our servers. We use it to contextualize your activity data within the App.
Your weekly step goal. This is stored both on your device and on our servers. We use it to calculate your progress and to rank you on the leaderboard.
If you create or join a team, the following applies.
The team name, invite code, member count, and the identifier of the team creator are stored on our servers.
If you upload a team image, that image is uploaded to Firebase Storage and is visible to other members of the team. Selecting a team image requires access to your device's photo library. We access only the single image you choose, and we do not scan or upload any other photos.
Your membership record — your join date, admin status, and step contribution — is stored on our servers and is visible to other members of that team.
We and our service providers automatically receive limited technical information.
Device information, such as your device model, operating system and version, app version, and device language and region.
Advertising identifiers, meaning your Google Advertising ID on Android or your Identifier for Advertisers on iOS, where you have consented to their use.
Push notification identifiers, meaning a push subscription token issued by OneSignal and linked to your account identifier, so that we can send you activity reminders.
Usage and analytics events, which are pseudonymous records of in-app actions such as completing onboarding, setting a goal, viewing the leaderboard, connecting a health provider, or an ad being displayed. These events record that an action occurred. They do not contain your health data values.
Fit Bharat uses the following third-party services. Each processes data under its own privacy policy, and each acts as a processor on our behalf, contractually restricted to using the data only to provide services to us.
Firebase Authentication, provided by Google LLC, processes your email address, name, profile photo, and account identifier. It does not receive health data.
Cloud Firestore, provided by Google LLC, stores your account record, weekly step total, goal progress, and team data. This is the one service that receives health-derived data, and only the weekly aggregates described in Section 2.3.
Firebase Storage, provided by Google LLC, stores any team images you upload. It does not receive health data.
Firebase Analytics, provided by Google LLC, processes pseudonymous usage events and device information. It does not receive health data.
Google AdMob, provided by Google LLC, processes advertising identifiers, device information, and ad interactions. It never receives health data.
Google User Messaging Platform, provided by Google LLC, records your advertising consent choices. It does not receive health data.
OneSignal, provided by OneSignal, Inc., processes your push notification token and account identifier. It does not receive health data.
Apple HealthKit, provided by Apple Inc., is the on-device source of health data on iOS.
Android Health Connect, provided by Google LLC, is the on-device source of health data on Android.
You can review the relevant privacy policies here:
Google, Firebase, and AdMob: https://policies.google.com/privacy
OneSignal: https://onesignal.com/privacy_policy
Fit Bharat displays advertisements supplied by Google AdMob, including banner, native, interstitial, and rewarded ad formats.
Health and fitness data is never shared with AdMob or any other advertising provider. No step count, distance, elevation, exercise time, goal, or any other health-derived value is transmitted to any ad network.
Advertising providers may use device identifiers, advertising identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads.
Before showing personalized advertising, we present a consent form using Google's User Messaging Platform, in accordance with the GDPR and applicable United States state privacy laws.
You can change your advertising consent at any time from within the App. Open Settings and tap "Do Not Sell or Share My Data", which is shown where applicable to your region.
On iOS, we request App Tracking Transparency permission. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Google → Ads.
We retain each category of data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected. Our specific retention periods are set out below.
Detailed daily health data — your per-day steps, distance, elevation, and active time — is stored on your device only and is retained for 31 days. The App automatically and permanently deletes any daily health record older than 31 days. This cleanup runs every time you open the App.
Your age and gender are stored on your device only and are retained until you delete your account or uninstall the App.
Your weekly step total and goal progress are stored on our servers and are retained until you delete your account. The current week's value is overwritten as your activity updates.
Your weekly step goal is stored on both your device and our servers and is retained until you delete your account. Historical weekly goals are kept on your device only, for as long as the App is installed.
Your account information — email address, name, profile photo, and account identifier — is stored on our servers and is retained until you delete your account.
Your team membership record — join date and step contribution — is stored on our servers and is retained until you leave the team or delete your account.
Teams you created, and their team images, are stored on our servers and are retained until the team is deleted.
Your push notification token is held by OneSignal and is retained until you log out, delete your account, or uninstall the App.
Analytics events are held by Firebase Analytics and are automatically deleted by Google no later than 14 months after collection.
Advertising data is held by Google AdMob and retained in accordance with Google's advertising data retention policies.
Support correspondence is held in our email systems for up to 24 months after your request is resolved.
Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all data stored on your device, including your entire on-device health history, your age, your gender, and your goal history. Uninstalling does not delete data held on our servers. To delete that, follow Section 10.
After you delete your account, we may retain a limited record only where legally required — for example, to comply with tax, accounting, or law enforcement obligations, to prevent fraud and abuse, or to resolve an active dispute. Any such record is retained only for as long as that obligation requires, and is then deleted.
You can delete your Fit Bharat account and all associated data at any time. You do not need to give a reason.
Open the Fit Bharat app.
Tap the Community tab, then open Settings.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
Confirm by tapping Delete in the dialog that appears.
If you cannot access the App, or have already uninstalled it, email us at developer@identiqinfotech.com and include:
The subject line "Data Deletion Request — Fit Bharat".
The email address associated with your Fit Bharat account.
Confirmation that you are requesting deletion of your account and all associated data.
We may ask you to verify that you control the email address on the account, in order to protect it against unauthorized deletion requests. We will never ask for your password.
When your deletion request is processed, we permanently delete:
Your account record, including your email address, display name, and profile photo.
Your weekly step total, goal progress percentage, and weekly step goal stored on our servers.
Your membership records in all teams, including your step contributions.
Any teams you created and their associated images, where you are the sole owner.
Your Firebase Authentication account.
Your OneSignal push notification subscription.
All data stored locally on your device, including your entire on-device health history, your age, and your gender.
Deleting your account does not delete data held in Apple Health or Health Connect. That data belongs to you and remains on your device under your control. See Section 11 to revoke our access to it.
In-app deletion takes effect immediately, and server-side records are removed within 30 days.
Email deletion requests are acknowledged within 7 business days and completed within 30 days of identity verification.
We will confirm in writing once your deletion is complete.
If you want to remove specific data rather than your whole account, you can:
Leave a team, which removes your membership record and step contribution from that team.
Revoke health permissions as described in Section 11, which stops all further health data collection.
Uninstall the App, which erases all locally stored data, including your full on-device health history.
Email us at developer@identiqinfotech.com to request deletion of a specific category of data.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
You control Fit Bharat's access to your health data at all times, and you may revoke it without deleting your account.
On iOS, open the Health app, tap your profile picture, then go to Privacy → Apps → Fit Bharat. From there, turn off the categories you no longer wish to share, or tap Turn Off All.
On Android, open Settings → Security & privacy → Privacy → Health Connect → App permissions → Fit Bharat. From there, turn off the permissions you no longer wish to grant, or tap Remove all permissions. You can also open the Health Connect app directly and go to App permissions → Fit Bharat.
Revoking health permissions stops all further health data collection immediately. Health data already stored on your device remains until it ages out of the 31-day window, you delete your account, or you uninstall the App. Aggregate values already held on our servers remain until you delete your account.
Revoking health permissions will prevent Fit Bharat's core step-tracking features from working.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.
All data transmitted between the App and our servers travels over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.
Data stored on our servers is encrypted at rest by Google Cloud infrastructure.
Access to your account data is restricted by server-side security rules that permit only you to write to your own record.
Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. We never see or store your Google or Apple password.
Detailed health data remains in local device storage, protected by your device's operating-system-level security and encryption.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
Fit Bharat is not directed to children under the age of 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at developer@identiqinfotech.com. We will delete the information promptly.
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:
Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Correction — request that we correct inaccurate information.
Deletion — request deletion of your personal information, as described in Section 10.
Portability — request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
Withdraw consent — revoke health data access or advertising consent at any time.
Object or restrict — object to, or request restriction of, certain processing.
Non-discrimination — we will not deny you service or give you a degraded experience because you exercised a privacy right.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom (GDPR and UK GDPR): our legal bases for processing are your consent, for health data and advertising; performance of a contract, to provide the App's features; and our legitimate interests, in securing and improving the App. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
If you are in California (CCPA and CPRA): we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in a manner requiring an opt-out beyond the in-app "Do Not Sell or Share My Data" control described in Section 8. Health data is never sold or shared for advertising.
If you are in India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023): you have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data, to nominate another individual to exercise your rights, and to grievance redressal. Our Grievance Officer can be reached at developer@identiqinfotech.com.
To exercise any of these rights, email developer@identiqinfotech.com. We will respond within 30 days.
We are based in India, and our service providers operate data centers in multiple countries, including the United States. Your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws.
Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, as implemented by our service providers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the App's features, or legal requirements.
When we make changes, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this policy. If the changes materially affect how we handle your personal or health data, we will provide prominent notice within the App and, where required by law, obtain your consent before the change takes effect.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
