Short Bio

This fan of Santos Futebol Clube was born in Mauá, São Paulo, Brazil but lived in Ribeirão Preto during his childhood, an interesting city also localized in the state of São Paulo. He received B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the University of São Paulo (USP) in 1998 and 2002, respectively. His Ph.D. was completed in 2 years and 4 months, a record in this institution according to our information! Since 2003, he's been a Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil, and has a CNPq grant supplied by his scientific productivity. His research interests include Numerical, analytical, and stochastic modeling of the systems physically and biologically motivated. Among the most important topics stand out: Equilibrium and non-equilibrium Statistical Mechanics, stochastic modeling, Some applications in the context of Spacial Evolutionary Game Theory, Applied Statistics, Computational Physics, Random Matrices, and Applications of the Graph theory.
