Narrator: The girl fish arrived and was able to help the Boys feel not as lonely. Soon, they realized that no food was coming down from the auto-feeder above. Something had made the machine not work. Unless they jumped up to the ledge, where the ma- chine was, and fixed it somehow, they wouldn’t have enough food to survive very long.

The boy fish and the girl fish made a great leap together and landed high above next to the machine while the Red fish watched. Even though the two made it to the ledge where the auto-feeder was and bumped it back into working again, they found they were unable to wiggle off to safety.

Just when things looked pretty bleak the New Boy fish landed on the ledge with them. His landing bump knocked the other two off to safety and saved their lives.
