At Fisher Physical Therapy, we operate on a cash-based model to provide individualized, one-on-one care. This approach allows us to focus entirely on your recovery, without the limitations and delays that sometimes come with insurance-based therapy. Below are some FAQs we receive.
Do I need a referral to start physical therapy?
In most cases, no. Many patients can begin physical therapy without a referral. Direct Access law in PA allows you to participate in physical therapy for up to 30 days before needing a physician's referral.
Do you accept insurance?
We do not bill insurance directly. Some patients with private insurance may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement. A receipt of services can be provided for you. It is your responsibility to submit the receipt to your insurance company.
Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?
Due to federal regulations, we are unable to provide cash-based physical therapy services to individuals with Medicare or Medicaid coverage, even if they choose to self-pay.
Benefits of a Cash-Based Model
When you choose cash-based care, you can expect:
Longer, more focused appointments with your therapist
Personalized treatment plans tailored to your specific needs
Flexible scheduling that prioritizes your goals and availability
Transparent, upfront pricing with no suprise bills
Direct communication with your therapist for questions and follow-up
Many patients find that cash-based care allows for a calmer, more focused therapy experience. This model supports evidence-based treatment that is completely centered on your goals.
