FishBowl is an unofficial mobile application for Whitefish Mountain Resort. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

Important: FishBowl is not affiliated with Whitefish Mountain Resort. All resort data is sourced from publicly available information.

Information We Collect

Device Information

• Device ID: We generate and store a unique, anonymous device identifier on our servers to track your vertical skiing statistics and maintain your notification preferences. This identifier is generated locally on your device and cannot be used to identify you personally.

• Push Notification Token: If you enable notifications, we store your device's push notification token to send snow alerts and forecast notifications.

Error and Performance Data

• Crash Reports: We use Sentry to collect anonymous crash reports and error logs to improve app stability. This includes device type, OS version, and error details, but no personal information.

• Performance Metrics: We collect anonymous performance data to identify and fix slow app features.

App Usage Data

• We may collect anonymous usage statistics to understand which features are most popular and improve the app experience.

Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number, address)

• Location data (GPS coordinates)

• Photos or videos

• Payment information (all purchases are handled by Apple/Google)

• Social media accounts

• Browsing history

• Contacts or address book information

How We Use Your Information

Device ID

Data Storage and Security

• Your data is stored securely in Supabase (a third-party database service) using industry-standard encryption

• We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission

• Device IDs are anonymized and cannot be traced back to you personally

• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes

• Data is retained only as long as necessary to provide app functionality

Supabase

Apple App Store / Google Play Store

In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google. We do not receive or store any payment information.

Whitefish Mountain Resort

We use publicly available data from the Whitefish Mountain Resort website (skiwhitefish.com) to provide mountain conditions, lift status, and trail information. We are not affiliated with Whitefish Mountain Resort.

Your Rights

• Disable Notifications: You can disable push notifications at any time in the app settings

• Delete Your Data: You can delete your vertical tracking data and preferences by uninstalling the app

• Access Your Data: You can contact us to request information about what data we have stored for your device

• Opt-Out: You can disable error reporting by contacting us (though this may impact our ability to fix issues)

Data Retention

• Device IDs and vertical statistics are retained until you uninstall the app

• Push notification tokens are retained until you disable notifications or uninstall the app

• Error logs are retained for up to 90 days for debugging purposes

• Anonymous usage statistics may be retained indefinitely in aggregated form

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new policy in the app

• Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy

Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
