Expectations and grading

There will be some assignments (for credit students) during the course. Each assignment is intended to take at most 6 hours to complete. 

There are no final or mid-term exams,  but at the end of the course, you'll be asked to give a presentation of your model, followed some weeks later with writing up a mini-paper based on your assignments and presentation.

You are expected to participate actively in classes, and credit students are expected to hand in all assignments.  There will be a lot of materials thrown your way, and preparation for classes is  essential for understanding. 

Grading is based on,

• 1. Participation                                 40%

  2. Assignments during course  15%

  3. Final presentation                      15%

  4. Final assignment                         30%

Students can choose to audit the course, rather than taking it for credit.  If auditing, you're welcome to hand in the assignments, but it is not required and you will not be graded.
