Preheat oven / toaster oven to bake at 450F. Place fish fillets on an ungreased baking pan. Bake approximately 11 minutes until browned. Carefully flip and bake an additional 8 minutes, until heated through and well browned

If you want to save the ocean, eat vegan fish! These vegan tofu fillets are flakey and delicate, they have a mild taste of the sea, delicious served with a wedge of lemon, and best yet, they are easy to make too. Just 10 ingredients, and can be prepped ahead of time.

Secret 1: The tofu is cut thinly part way through to give an amazing flaky texture that is so similar to fish. Bonus points, the thin cuts also allow the tofu to absorb the marinade better.

This recipe makes two large tofu fillets, but feel free to cut the tofu block into 4 to make four smaller fillets if you prefer. I love to whip up this recipe the day before and let the tofu marinate in the fridge overnight so that when it's dinner time, this dish takes just 10 minutes to cook up.

Cook the tofu fillets: In a large skillet or non-stick frying pan, heat the oil or butter. When hot add the tofu fillets to the pan, discarding any leftover marinade. Fry for 3 - 5 minutes per side until the tofu is golden brown and heated through. Be very careful when flipping the tofu as it's very tender.

These Oven-Baked CRISPY Fish Fillets are what delicious and healthy food is all about. Were talking a light crispy texture on the outside, perfectly tender fish in the inside and a ton of great flavors. But the best part? No frying and no oil. Everything done in the trusty oven with absolutely no fuss.

To make this recipe I used cod fillets I bought frozen and thawed out. But you can also use fresh cod here, as well as any other type of firm white fish. Either way, try to use thicker fish fillets. This will allow enough time for the crust to crisp without overcooking the fish.

I didnt use any oil in this recipe, but I did lightly spray the fish fillets with nonstick cooking spray. This really helps the crust get that light crispy texture, as well as add another layer of flavor. I used an extra virgin olive oil spray, but you can use any type you like.

TIPS & TRICKS to Make this Recipe: To bake the fish fillets, I used a baking pan with a steel rack. This allows the air to flow underneath while baking. To evenly crisp the fish all around. If you use a regular baking pan, make sure its nonstick and just flip the fish halfway through. Either way, do not add parchment or foil paper underneath, this will make the crust soggy.

Cant wait to make this soon for me can i use tofu i never had better than fried oven baked crispy fish fillets before perfect for my after office meals love your recipes as always brightens up my day everyday after work

This is my first time using my Air Fryer. I was surprised, my rockfish fillets came out moist and tender. These are mild-tasting fish fillets that are well seasoned, perfectly air fried, and amazingly delicious. I also made the Mango Salsa that goes so well with the fish.

Rockfish are white fish from the Pacific Ocean. There are several varieties of rockfish, among the few are Striped Bass, Ocean Perch, Pacific Snapper, and Sea Bass. They are lean fish and have a mild taste and a little bit of sweet flavor. The flesh is thick and medium-firm with medium-sized flakes.

I made Mango Salsa, very simple to make. For the seasonings, I added one grated garlic clove, lime juice, salt, and red chili pepper flakes. Then, I diced one medium-sized mango (ripe but not overly ripened), 3 tomatoes (deseed and diced), 1/2 red onion, and a handful of fresh cilantro. This Mango Salsa goes so well with the fish. You can also have any roasted veggies or potatoes on the side. You can even have some rice.

When I do this outside on the gas grill, I cook the foil on indirect heat, which basically means I heat up one side of the grill with the cover closed so it gets good and hot, and keep the burners off on the other side. You can also do this with a charcoal grill with a cover, by leaving the coals on one side. The fish goes on the indirect side of the grill so that it cooks from the steam created in the foil. In about 10 minutes, the fish cooked to perfection. My whole family enjoys this, even my three year old.

Gina, I know that adding fat to fish cooked in an open oven helps to keep it moist. But I'm curious what the purpose is of adding fat when cooking fish in foil, since the steam keeps it moist. Is it just for flavor?

Yumm this is one of my favourite dinners because (like you said) it's so fast and easy to make! My packets usually contain fish with lemon, dill and tarragon, but it doesn't seem to matter what combos I try, they always come out delicious! I'll be trying yours next!

I make this all the time with Swai (Basa) filets. I season the fish with herbs & a spices, top it off with 2 big handfuls of fresh baby spinach and halved grape tomatoes, then serve over rice pilaf. Healthy & flavorful!

I swear we could be friends! We do fish foil packs all the time on the grill with fish my dad catches right from LI Sound. My almost 3 year old LOVES fish. In fact he associates grandpa with fish. Anytime you want to take the ferry over to NL for a getaway give me a shout. Only problem might be most of my recipes come from you. But I do have an awesome fish taco recipe that I don't think is yours. We do the foil pockets then assemble the tacos. Delish!

What I love about this vegan fish recipe is how versatile and customizable it is. Once you create the fillets, you can season and sauce them up with whatever you like! You can also make a salmon version just by adding in a touch of beetroot or carrot juice for that colour. I paired mine with soy butter but I also love marinating it in a miso sauce and broiling it in the oven. You can also grill these up and give it a torch for extra flavour!

Summer time is a time to heat up the grill and keep your house from becoming an oven, don't you agree? And, I'm in favor of maximizing flavor while minimizing time spent sweating over a grill. Solution? Fish fillets - they cook so quickly and are a perfect canvas for flavorful spice rubs, which add flavor and heat pronto. This year I bought one of those grill baskets. I'm not big on cooking gadgets, generally, but this one is worth its weight in gold. It's the Williams Sonoma Quesadilla grill basket - you can put four fillets in at once!

Fish is always on my "I Should Eat More of" List. Even in the summer. White fish fillets are perfect as a canvas for spice rubs. Here's an easy, budget-friendly fish recipe to do just that - and only takes just 20 minutes total time. Using small fish that are lower on the food chain is an environmentally friendly thing to do - they are sustainable fish, AND - more good news: they're less expensive than larger varieties. For this technique, you could use tilapia, snapper, trout, cod or any other firm white fish fillets. (Pictured above is tilapia.) This technique is one that can be used with most any spice rub. I like to mix up this Southwest Chile Cumin Spice Rub and keep it on hand - it will keep for at least a year in a cool, dry cabinet. 2351a5e196
