History of Managment:
The Milwaukee Bucks was founded on January 22, 1968, and was headed by Marvin L. Fisher and Wesley D. Pavalon. Jim Fitzgerald assumed the position of chairman of the board for the Milwaukee Bucks. That would later change twice, first in 1985 when Herb Kohl, from Kohler company, became the new president. Then it would have another owner, which happened less than a decade ago in 2014 when two entrepreneurs Marc Lasry and Wes Edens. Their goal was to create a new arena and create a new district. “The idea was to not just build an arena, but rather develop a 30-acre district of an otherwise vacant part of downtown to redefine how a city lives, works and plays. The cornerstone of this idea was a new sports and entertainment venue that would become the new home of the Bucks while bringing world-class entertainment to Milwaukee.” (NBA).
History of the Team:
The Milwaukee Bucks' first season may not have been the best. They ended the 1968-1969 season going 27-55, falling way short of a winning record. Although this isn't what the Bucks wanted, with luck on their side by winning a coin flip, they received the number 1 draft pick and would have one of the arguably best players in the NBA, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Kareem would carry their team the next season with a final record of 56-26 and get the 2 seed in the East. Unfortunately, they would fall short of the Philadelphia 76ers in the playoffs. Next year, however, the Bucks received Nate Robinson, another NBA legend, who would assist Kareem in dominating the NBA. As Justin Meyer, from Nothing but Nylon states "The Bucks ran away with the Midwest Division in 1970-71 and set a record of 66 regular season wins, which has since been broken multiple times. From Feb. 6 through March 8, 1971, Milwaukee won 20 games in a row, setting another NBA record that’s been since beaten." (Meyer). Along with setting records, the bucks didn't fall short in the playoffs, only losing 3 of their 14 post-season games, while sweeping the Baltimore Bullets in the Finals for their first Championship. The bucks became a dynasty that would shape the Bucks history.
